• Marketing for study and doctoral training programmes of Freie Universität Berlin
• Publicising new research projects (Collaborative Research Centres, clusters etc.) and recent research results from Freie Universität Berlin (e.g. through websites, newsletters or mailing lists)
• Assistance for researchers based at Freie Universität Berlin to organise conferences and other events abroad
• Providing information about academic and research developments in the region (e.g. information about new scholarship or research programmes)
• Organisation of and support for international alumni activities

Technische Universität Berlin

Tasks:
The liaison office of the Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin, TUB) develops and strengthens German-Egyptian relations in higher education and provides information about study and research opportunities at TU Berlin and on the campus in El Gouna. It performs the following tasks:
• Local representation of TU Berlin on a wide range of matters
• Higher education marketing, e.g. at student fairs, in schools, at events
• Provision of advice to all target groups on studying, doctoral training and research at TUB
• Networking of stakeholders (e.g. Egyptian universities, Egyptian and German governmental and non-governmental organisations, Office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Cairo)
• Organisation of a wide range of events (e.g. research or doctoral workshops, information days)
• Local support to members of TUB
• Support for international students on the El Gouna campus
• Support in the recognition of study programmes in Egypt
• Support for local press and public relations work
• Alumni work

Tasks:
TUM Cairo supports members of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in their activities and in networking with partners in the Middle East. The office has direct links with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and eight other leading German institutions in Cairo. The office's main tasks are to initiate research and industry cooperation arrangements, to recruit top students and doctoral candidates, to maintain a dynamic alumni network and to increase the visibility of TUM as a global brand.
