Die German Rectors´ Conference currently has 268 member institutions. In the Rules of Procedure, they are assigned to the following appendices:

• Universities, Technical Universities 
• Universities of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschulen) 
• Universities of Education in Baden-Württemberg
• Colleges of Art and Music
• Philosophical-Theological Colleges affiliated to the Catholic or Lutheran Church
• Other Higher Education Institutions
