Library

The HRK Library contains the largest special collection of literature on higher education, research and science policy in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The collection includes:

  • more than 70,000 monographs
  • approx. 800 current periodicals, including 350 university journals
  • approx. 4,000 documents from "grey literature" series
  • the study- and examination regulations issued by Germany's universities
  • the printed course catalogues of all German universities since 1945
  • a comprehensive collection of press cuttings.

The HRK library can be used as a reference library by all interested persons.

Our Online Catalogue contains all the literature acquired by the HRK Library since 1996. This currently amounts about 63.000 title entries (monographs, essays and extracts from monographs, essays from journals, magazines and newspapers, study and examination regulations for degree  courses offered by German universities, brochures, the grey literature series, legal texts and laws). Around half of all title entries are made up of analysed journal articles or essays taken from books.
