EU Research Framework Programmes

The European Union's multi-year project, the Framework Programmes for Research (FPR) represent the European Union's core instrument for promoting research. They offer researchers from universities and other research institutions, from industry and from the public sector the opportunity to become involved in promoting excellent research initiatives in competition-based processes. This mainly concerns transnational and cross-sector joint projects.

The current EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020  started on 1 January 2014 with a €70 billion budget (estimated €77 billion at the current price).
