Abstract Student mobility has become a significant feature of higher education throughout the world, and most notably over the past three decades within the Asia Pacific Region. There are various new types of mobility models in Asia, many the result of the emergence of Transnational Education (TNE). One such network, UMAP (University Mobility in Asia and the Paci c), was established in 1991 as a voluntary, member-based university network. This paper discusses how university networks such as UMAP can create a broader and more active stream of student mobility in Asia. (HRK / Abstract übernommen)
