Still looking for a suitable university place? Germany's nationwide study place exchange is now back online, listing places that are still available.
The universities´ information platform lists 1866 undergraduate and postgraduate courses that still have places available.
The site is updated daily to show the degree programmes for which applications or enrolments are still being accepted and at what location, so it's always worth checking back. The study place exchange is open until the end of October.
You can search for a place by subject and location. For each search result there are contact details for the institution and links to pages that explain the admission requirements and deadlines. Access is free and no registration is required.
Information is posted about places on courses with local admission restrictions and also on programmes with free access. With free access, applicants can enrol without any additional procedure being required. Where there is an admission restriction, applicants must contact the institution to apply. A contact form can be found with each listed place.
The nationwide study place exchange was developed by the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) and is offered as part of its Higher Education Compass. It is available at http://www.hochschulkompass.de/studienplatzboerse or http://www.freie-studienplaetze.de (available in German only)
The HRK has published information about different admission procedures on the Higher Education Compass website ("Wege zum Studium") (in German only).
