22. April 2015
This year, the judging panel for the 2015 Ars Legendi Prize for Excellence in Higher Education Teaching will be looking for exceptional contributions in the area of digital teaching and digital learning. This the tenth time that the Donors’ Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany (Stifterverband) and the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) are honouring excellence in teaching in this way. The prize is endowed with €50,000.
Entries are invited from teachers at German universities who have shown particular proficiency and imagination in the use of digital media in their teaching. The prize is presented in recognition of excellent educational and teaching skills and of the support and advice given to students. Candidates are also assessed on whether they have promoted the ongoing development of higher education teaching outside their own teaching commitments.
The Ars Legendi Prize aims to highlight the special significance of university teaching for the education of young academics and create an incentive that will benefit teachers' careers by encouraging them to demonstrate their commitment to university teaching and motivating them to move beyond their own sphere of action. At the same time, teaching should be established as a key quality criterion for leading universities and designated a strategic goal for quality management at the universities.
Entries are welcomed from now until 10 July 2015. A judging panel will select the winner of the 2015 Ars Legendi Prize. It will be presented on 29 October in Berlin.
