Ulrich Radtke becomes the new Spokesperson of the Universities at the HRK

The new Spokesperson of the Universities Member Group at the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) is the Rector of the University of Duisburg-Essen, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Radtke. He was elected yesterday in Friedrichsdorf im Taunus by the Member Group to a two-year term starting on 1 August. In taking this position, Prof. Radtke will also become a member of the HRK Executive Board.

He is a geographer who has been Rector of the University of Duisburg-Essen since 2008; he has been deputy Spokesperson of the Member Group since 2014. He succeeds Prof. Dr. Dieter Lenzen, President of the University of Hamburg who has been Spokesperson for the last four years.

The new deputy Spokesperson is the jurist Prof. Dr. Volker Epping, President of the Leibniz University of Hanover.

Prof. Dr. Katharina Krause, President of the Philipp University of Marburg, and Prof. Dr. Johanna Weber, Rector of the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald and HRK Vice-President for Medical Institutions and Health were also confirmed in office as Spokespersons.
