Carola Jungwirth elected HRK Vice-President

The President of the University of Passau, Professor Dr Carola Jungwirth, becomes Vice-President of the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK). The HRK General Assembly
elected her today in Rostock at the recommendation of the President. As of 1 June 2019, she will be responsible for the area of Teaching and Learning on the Executive Board.

The economist worked at the Universities of Liechtenstein, Zurich and Witten/Herdecke before her appointment at the University of Passau in 2007, where she has served as President since April 2016. Last year, she was appointed to the HRK Standing Committee for Organisation and Governance.

With the election of Professor Jungwirth, the eight-strong HRK Executive Board is fully staffed once again. It is now made up of four women and four men.
