Tasks:
The office features a diverse array of tasks. The overall aspiration is serving as a corridor of the future world of transatlantic cooperation in higher education, science, humanities.
In detail the aims are:
• Alumni: We develop a strong US and Canadian network.
• Fundraising: We understand demands of foundations, companies and individuals.
• Recruiting and University College Freiburg (UCF): We gain scientists and students by fresh ideas like the UCF.
• Academic cross-linkage: We define research topics like precision medicine, quantum science and technology or sustainability to establish close ties.
• Marketing, knowledge and technology transfer: We trust the impact of science and humanities finding corporate partners and investors for our start-up business in the Black Forest.
The office works as headquarter for Eucor – The European Campus North America, too. The German Universities of Freiburg, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) contribute with their partners to the innovation hub Upper Rhine Valley by outstanding teaching and research. Members likewise are the Universities of Basel, Mulhouse and Strasbourg.

Tasks:
The New York Office integrates the University of Cologne (UoC) into the higher education policy context in North America. It supports cooperation arrangements with North American partner universities and helps researchers from the UoC to organise and publicise events in and around New York in order to find suitable public platforms for their research projects. The US representative also organises delegation visits and serves as contact person for staff and students from US and Canadian universities who are interested in an exchange with the UoC. The office maintains the network of the UoC alumni in North America and represents the university at education fairs.
Since its incorporation in 2015, the office has been known as the University of Cologne New York Office Corp. and has been managed by a board.
The partners of the UoC office include the Federal Foreign Office, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Washington, DC, the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in New York and the German Center for Research and Innovation (GCRI).

The liaison office in San Francisco is dedicated to maintaining partnerships of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in North America by supporting cooperation projects, advertising new programmes and representing TUM at local events. It also links TUM researchers and staff with local stakeholders to strengthen their activities in the region and supports TUM's recruitment efforts in North America by attending career fairs and organising workshops. The office also helps foster alumni relationships and keeps members of the university informed about trends in the US research and higher education market, particularly in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley.

• Marketing for study and doctoral training programmes of the member universities
• Publicising new research projects (Collaborative Research Centres, clusters etc.) and recent research results from the member universities (e.g. through websites, newsletters or mailing lists)
• Assistance for researchers based at the member universities to organise conferences and other events abroad
• Providing information about academic and research developments in the region (e.g. information about new scholarship or research programmes)

Founded in 2005, UAS7 New York is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organisation representing its seven German member universities in North America. UAS7 New York works with US and Canadian (partner) universities to connect students and researchers with study, teaching and research opportunities at UAS7 member universities. Responsibilities of the UAS7 Liaison Office include: student advisement on study abroad and degree programmes (including funding opportunities), representation of UAS7 at higher education fairs and conferences, support of research collaborations, and organisation of academic events such as panel discussions and workshops.
