University of Erfurt becomes a member of the Hochschulrektorenkonferenz

The Association of Universities and other Higher Education Institutions in Germany (Hochschulrektorenkonferenz - HRK) has a new member university: On 17 February the HRK Plenary Session voted unanimously in favour of admitting the University of Erfurt into its ranks. The new member was assigned to the Universities Group.

The University of Erfurt was re-founded in 1994. Following the integration of the Erfurt Faculty of Theology at the beginning of the year, the university now has five faculties.

This means that the Hochschulrektorenkonferenz presently has 263 member institutions representing all types of higher education facility; member institutions account for more than 98 per cent of all students matriculated in Germany.
