HRK Plenary Assembly elects three Vice-Presidents

As from 1 August this year, two new Vice-Presidents will be members of the Executive Board of the German Rectors' Conference (Hochschulrektorenkonferenz - HRK). One Vice-President was confirmed with new departmental responsibility. This is the result of the HRK Plenary Assembly elections held in Bonn on 30 May.

The new HRK Vice-President for New Media and Knowledge Transfer will be the Rector of the FH Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, Professor Dr. Beate Rennen-Allhoff. This makes her the successor to Professor Dr. Andreas Geiger, who takes on his new office as speaker of the HRK Member Group Fachhochschulen on 1 August and so continues to be a member of the Executive Board. The educational scientist Rennen-Allhoff served, not least, as Deputy Speaker of the Member Group Fachhochschulen from 2004 to 2006.

The Plenary Assembly elected Professor Dr. Burkhard Rauhut as the new Vice-President for Research and Young Researchers. The Rector of the RWTH Aachen University of Technology had previously been responsible for Planning and Organisation on the Executive Board and had temporarily served as Acting President of the HRK. He now takes on the department previously headed by Professor Dr. Margret Wintermantel, who was elected as the New HRK President on 21 March.

Professor Dr. Klaus Dicke was elected as the future Vice-President for Planning and Organisation. The political scientist has been Rector of the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena since 2004.
