Andreas Geiger elected as the new Spokesman of the Fachhochschulen Member Group in the HRK

Professor Dr. Andreas Geiger was elected for a two-year term of office as the new Spokesman of the Fachhochschulen Member Group in the German Rectors' Conference (Hochschulrektorenkonferenz – HRK). The Member Group had convened on 20 March, the day before the HRK Plenary Assembly held in Bonn. The Rector of the Hochschule (FH) Magdeburg-Stendal had already served as the Deputy Spokesman of the Member Group from 2002 to 2004. He has been HRK Vice-President for New Media and Knowledge Transfer since 2004. He takes the place of Professor Dr. Erhard Mielenhausen on 1 August, who has chaired the Member Group since 2000.

The Member Groups of the HRK are responsible for promoting information exchange, for providing advice, and for adopting resolutions on member-group specific topics. Besides the Fachhochschulen (Universities of Applied Sciences) Member Group, the HRK also currently has a Universities Member Group.
