KMK and HRK act in unison!

10.12.2009 - The Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs and the German Rectors' Conference are working together to reduce the examination loads, to check and monitor the student workload, to simplify the recognition of examination achievements between universities both nationally and internationally, to make the Common Structural Guidelines of the Länder for Bachelor's and Master's programmes as flexible as possible, and to set no specific rules or regulations that go beyond those of the Common Structural Guidelines. more»

Student record is an obligation

25.11.2009 - More and more young people are deciding to take up academic studies. The proportion of undergraduates among the like-aged population has risen from 40.3% to 43.3%. Schavan and Wintermantel satisfied with the Study Place Exchange – New process makes the admissions procedure much easier

6.11.2009 - The process for awarding study places in Germany has been made much more efficient. This is the conclusion drawn by the HRK, after the first nationwide Study Place Exchange was completed with the start of the Winter Semester. 4.11.2009 - "The challenges associated with the Bologna Process will be solved through dialogue. I invite the students to come and play an active part," said HRK President Margret Wintermantel. "It is right that students complain loudly about the problems they face in their studies. In view of the underfinancing of the academic reforms, I can sympathise a lot with them. 3.11.2009 - HRK and German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) call for less bureaucracy in the research funding of the European Union. In a joint letter to the Head of the Directorate-General for Research at European Commission, Dr. José Manuel Rodriguez, their Presidents called for quicker, more transparent and simpler procedures and processes in concrete problem areas. more»
